We believe in taking an adaptive approach to each dog that comes to us for training!
We implement what each specific dog’s and owner’s needs are to reach realistic and obtainable goals. Having a well balanced dog is very important both mentally and physically. This will help the state of mind the dog is in. Calmness in each environment is very important to be able to absorb the surroundings in a positive way. By doing so this creates a better relationship between owners and their dogs! Rewards are given in forms of treats and physical/verbal affection to praise wanted behaviors. To stop unwanted behaviors, we work with different forms of “pressure”: e-collars, prongs, and/or slip leads. This balanced approach allows us to form and shape a more structured, confident, and reliable dog, allowing both the dog and owner feel more secure and safe!Meet Our Dogs!

“Wow! We are so impressed with the work Jade has done with our 7yr old bull terrier mix! Prior to training our dog was too anxious to go for walks outside or in public, it was always a fight and our pup would just pull home the entire time. Today we picked up our pup from 2 weeks of board and train and she let us walk her around in public for 2 hours! No pulling and her tail was out the entire time, I’ve honestly never seen her be able to do this. Jade also was great at training us on how to be better dog owners and following the commands that were taught in training. About Us
Jade is the owner and trainer of Top Tier Canine LLC. Jade grew up in the San Juan Islands and has owned horses, dogs and cats. She has always had a passion for helping pet owners train their horses or dogs. This led to her interest in finding out how to train animals on a professional levels, mentoring and training under different trainers over the past four years. She graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelors in Agricultural Business Management and a Minor in Animal Sciences. Her passion for training dogs and interest in business pushed her to start Top Tier Canine LLC.Bailey is a four year old Blue Heeler Border Collie. Jade got Bailey when she was an 8 week old puppy. Bailey was a very reserved dog towards strangers and out of fear began nipping out. She was great around livestock and trail riding, but just needed more exposure to strangers. This sparked Jade’s interest to train Bailey and help with her anxious behaviors in public. With time, consistency, and lots of practice, Bailey has become such a great demo dog for Top Tier Canine LLC! She loves her job and loves to have fun on all of the adventures she gets to go on!
